COYOTES TO ANNOUNCE TRYOUTS IN UPCOMING WEEKSby Coyote Staff Fresno, Ca – The Central Valley Coyotes will have an announcement about tryouts for the 2010 Coyote team in the weeks to come. Like in previous years the Coyotes will host a minimum of two tryouts one in Fresno and one in Los Angeles. However, there will most likely be a third tryout this year either in Reno, NV or San Diego, CA. The third tryout will be held since player demand will be high due to the small quantity of teams playing arena football in 2010.
“Obviously with only 16 teams playing arena football in this country at this current time the talent level will go up tremendously. There just aren’t as many roster spots as there was last year,” stated Fred Biletnikoff Jr. “Two years ago there were 74 professional teams (17 AFL teams, 25 af2 teams, and 32 NFL teams) playing football in the United States. In 2010 there are only 32 NFL teams and 16 Arena Football 1 teams. That’s a total of only 48 teams. Wow, players better be on their top game if they’re going to make a team now-a-days, there aren’t many spots out there.”
Please stay tuned to our website as we should have for sure dates announced by October 15th. Tryouts will not be held until November 2, 2009 at the earliest!
